Welcome to our website. May be you are surprised to see the picture of a frog on my website but frogs are one of nature's best producers of antimicrobial peptides against which pathogens have not managed to gain resistance over thousands of years. My group does research in biotechnology, energy and environment areas. In biotechnology our core competency is in massively parallel synthesis of DNA and fabrication of microfluidic systems. Starting from this base we search for solutions to problems in synthetic biology, health care and energy. In energy and environment we develop new heterogeneous catalysts for reducing pollution and enzymatic systems to produce biofuels starting from cellulosic materials and carbon dioxide and hydrogen
